Welcome back to LookingBackwards - All Our Relations.

a lengthy period of neglect, the genealogy bug has once again bitten,

and we are giving the website a fresh look and new data. At the moment,

it's still fairly empty, as the updated software and packages are still

being installed, it's still a work in progress. Among the currently uploading items are some photographs and some source documents.

we have things up and running somewhat consistently, user accounts will

be turned off, as without the additional data, there isn't anything

really to see while things get unpacked. Once the data has been brought

on board, user accounts will again be available, which will permit

viewing additional information that is restricted to family members only. In

order to qualify for a user account here, you will need to complete the

access request form (not currently on line), as well as complete a few

Family Group sheets for your family, your parents' families, and their

parents' families. This information will be used to link your request to

those already in our files. We will also want your contact information, so that if something should happen to the site, we can let you know. That information is accessible only to the website owner/administrator, and will be kept offline as well. For anyone who is concerned about privacy issues, so are we. If there is something specific you have a question about, email us at MAIL-TO: INFO@LOOKINGBACKWARDS.NET.

rarely send out a mass email, in fact, to my knowledge, we have done so

twice since 2003 when LookingBackwards.net first came on line. Back

then, we were using Darrin Lythoe's software package "The

Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding", which at that time was on

version 3. We last year upgraded to the most recent version, 12.0.3 and over the next several weeks will be completing the update to version 12.3 (7 May 2020).

Please check back with us over the net few weeks to see how things sort out.
