Note:
Some information on this family can be found in Virginia
Historical Genealogies by John Bennett Boddie, p. 174-181. He may
have come to Virginia about 1651. Robert Wynne is first mentioned in
1656 as a Captain of Militia, and a Justice in Charles City Co. Court.
He represented Charles City Co. in the House of Burgesses, and was
Speaker of the House of Burgesses in Virginia durling the 'Long
Parliament' from 1661-1674. He died the next year, and his wife was
his executrix. His will was probated in England, because he still
owned inherited property there. His children were Thomas,
[BO:Joshua:BO], Robert and Mary, who married George Woodlief. Thomas
and Joshua were both interpreters with the Indians of the area.
