    • (1) From the Family Records of Wm. Burgess Albright & his Ancesters& Decenden ts in America 1927-1977 Including: Clapps Snoderlys & related Families by Mon a Belle Turpin ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The following information is from the above source(1): Anna Barbara was about 12 years old at the time the family came to America, old enough to feel some s entiment about leaving her homeland. Years later one of her decendents told th at she had wrapped a small white mulberry tree in her black silk apron and thu s brought it with her to her adopted home. In so doing, she was the first to i ntroduce that species of mulberry to America. Abstracts from a deed recorded i n Deed Book A-3, 27 (Berks County Pennsylvania), dated December 1752 transf ering property to a son-in-law of Johannes: "Barbara Albracht ...widow of John Albright, deceased, together with Christian Albracht, yeoman, Jacob Albracht,w heelwright, Lodowich Albracht, wheelwright, they being the three sons of John Albracht... the mother, sons and daughters, constituting the parties of thefi rst part in transfer to John Foust, intermarried with Barbara, the other daugh ter of John Albracht, the 100 acres of land....." We have only sketchy knowled ge of the Albright's while they were still in Pennsylvania and before they wen t to North Carolina. We know that they were still in Pennsylvania in 1759. On the tax list for Bern Township, Berks County Pennsylvania for that year we fin d the names of Jacob Albright, #6; Ludwig Albright, #1; Christian Albright,#7; and John Foust, #10. These were the three sons of Johannes and Anna Barbara A lbright and their son-in-law, husband of Anna Barbara (Albright) Foust. Some t ime during the ten years following the death of Johannes Albrecht in Pennsylva nnia, his sons Jacob and Ludwig and their wives left Pennsylvania and wentto N orth Carolina. It seems that their sister, Anna Barbara and her husband, John Foust, also made the Move to North Carolina. Orange County, North Carolina rec ords show that Lodowich Albright purchased 325 acres of land from Henry McCull ough in August 1763, and Jacob Albright bought 200 acres in February 1764.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
