- Per James Yarbrough, on Cookie's Corner, 18 Apr 2005: Houston County Courier-Thursday, April 7, 2005 Albert Clayton Babb Mr. Albert Clayton Babb, age 71, of Austonio, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2005 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. Mr. Babb was born February 4, 1934 in Houston County and had been living in Austonio for the past 17 years. He was a veteran of the U.S.S. Yorktown. Mr. Babb was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. and was a member of the N. R. A. He was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad and attended the Baptist Chruch. Survivors include his wife of 37 years Lena (Lee) Bartel Babb of Austonio; step-mother Maggie Lee Babb of Austonio; sisters and brothers-in-law Mammie and Tommy Oliver of Latexo and Flora and Frank Gilbert of Orange; Brothers and sisters-in-law Johnny and Janice Babb of Latexo and Floyd Jr. and Debi Meyers of Galveston; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mr. Babb was preceded in death by father William Rhodes (Buck) Babb; mother Mary Pearl Adams Babb Meyers and infant sister Dovie Lucille Babb. Funeral services for Mr. Albert Clayton Babb were held Friday, April 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ottis Byers officiating.
