The Arms and Awards of the Shire of Darkwell
Members of our Shire were awarded the following awards and grants of arms during our time together
The branch name, “Darkwell, Shire of”, was registered in October of 1982 (via Caid) and released in January of 1993 (via Caid). No heraldry was ever submitted to the College of Arms, as a consensus on the design could not be acheived; the elements would have contained a stone well, Or (gold), with black oil seeping from the stones. This would have represented the Oil Industry so prevalent in Kern County at the time.
