Campaigns update
Tiring day, which began about three hours too soon, is finally drawing to a close. All of the adult pain medications have been taken, and so I have some small hope of sleeping past 3 AM tonight.
Today was gaming, in Adam’s Dragonquest campaign for our Seattle Gaming Group (which is spread from roughly Everett to Portland.)
Nothing quite like discovering that one of your party members has been beheaded in the night to get things off to a grand start! In our case, it was my character who was killed. (It’s okay, the GM and I had been discussing it for a while, in order to make a character swap.)
A few deaths now and then is always a good plot device, anyway. The “new kid” is a Fire Mage/Martial Artist with a few surprises up his sleeve. I think he’s going to be fun. First male, human character I’ve played in many years, it’s going to be an adjustment. today’s session was also a test-drive to see how well Microsoft Teams might work out for us, instead of a conference call where people keep getting dropped out. I think it went fairly well, even if a few times folks did get disconnected.
My character for Stuart’s upcoming GURPS Modern Urban Fantasy campaign (also the same group of players) s been submitter for review. We’ll see if my “Lightning Bug” gets approved or needs more revisions. This game will be meeting over Teams and using Battlegrounds for our Virtual Table Top. It’s expected to start up officially after the new year, but we like to plan ahead, as currently we only game once a month due to scheduling issues.
The other group I game with, Michael’s 5e D&D game out of the Portland area, is progressing, we leveled up session before last, so now I have a 4th level Drow (Dark Elf) Warlock. I’m really enjoying her – she was adopted by the Queen of Air and Summer and has spent more time in the Feywild than in Underdark, and as a result (her “undercommon” is heavily Sylvan-accented. Her Pact familiar is a Sprite, called Season, who takes the form of Flower Fairies, and changes appearance with each season, hence the name.) We’re running through the Storm King’s Thunder adventure in this campaign, and are about to head off to rescue a bunch villagers who ran from town when it was attacked.
And I think the meds are starting to work, as I keep nodding off sitting here attempting to type, and have had to retype that last paragraph several times now.
