I sat down one evening and tried to recreate a listing of all of my published works over the years. I know that this isn’t a complete listing, as there were many things I submitted for publication that were accepted by various and sundry publications that I’ve forgotten over the years, some gaming, Sci-fi, and fandom -zines, some vanity press things, and whatnot, but this is off the top of my head that I can actually remember.Continue reading →
Ashleigh is a late-60s wife, mother and grandmother, with varied interests including genealogy, writing, reading, and gaming. She's been known by many names over the course of her life and called many more. She generally answers best to Ashleigh or Nonna.
This past week we had to say goodby to our fur kid, Quill, aka Don Quillote de la India Ink. So, for those who weren’t aware, my youngest daughter’s emotional support animal, Quill, has been ill for about a month … Continue reading →
Elegy to Our Boy It is so hard to say goodbye. The end has come. I knew it would . . . someday. Such a good boy; for seven too short years, our Quill, always there for us, … Continue reading →

I’ve been rather neglectful of this site recently. I’m trying to become better at updating content for all of my websites (yes, plural, there are a number of them), but between Covid-19 exhaustion (no, I haven’t contracted the ’ rona, … Continue reading →
Kind of “meh” at present. There are many things that I would like to be doing, but the actual energy to do any of them is hiding.
Last year, I began the process of recreating a chapbook I wrote back in the 1970s – it’s on hold until I can face getting into the garage/shop and seeing how much damage the journals that were placed there for safekeeping have sustained, following the treee branch that pierced the roof of the building. Loads of fun, to be certain.
I have a book on Tarot that is almost completely outlined, I just need the wherewithal to sit and write it.
My genealogy site is in need of updating, and I just don’t know if it’s worth the time and effort anymore. At 67, I don’t have the energy reserves I did at 30 or 40 or even 50 — and I’ve been debating just taking it offline completely, There’s only one other relative who has ever actively contributed to it, and this past year saw her entire family contract the COVID-19 virus, and her mother passed away due to complications from it. None of my immediate family have ever expressed any real interest in it.
The COVID-19 quarantine requirements also managed to end my business venture, before it really had a chance to flourish. I decided earlier this year to not renew my business license, as I earned exactly -=zero dollars=- between November 2019 and February 2021.
I’ve been facilitating a course via the Zoom platform for the past month, a two hour sessino every Saturday. The instructor would like to continue offering it, but move it to Sundays, which, I cannot do. We’ll be talking this next week about other options.
Today would be my father’s 100th birthday, had he not died on New Years’ Eve 1988. Happy birthday, Dad. This July would have been Mom & Dad’s 80th Anniversary (not counting the year that they were divorced, and Mother married & divorced again…)
As I said to the family the other night, “can we just join hands and attempt to contact my departed spirit?”
and we can put paid to 2020. What a year it’s been. There’s not been much progress on any of my projects this year, but the month of December has been, quite likely, my best month overall. For several years, … Continue reading →
For the curious, this is a large part of the genealogy website rebuild that I’m doing for the next week or so. I typically use Family Tree Maker 2019 for my main research; along with the applications for MyHeritage and … Continue reading →
I’m trying to stay in writing mode, as I have two books currently in progress. One is the previously described “How the Devil Got His Horns, and other tails” and the other is a book on Tarot. So, of necessity, … Continue reading →
Well, I finally had time to do some edting on that Goodreads widget, and decided to go with a different style entirely, and moved it down the page to the bottom. Here’s hoping that it works out better.Continue reading →
